Women Empowerment
MES CMR in Mondeor has taken initiative to start a women’s programme called “Development of Women project” this project commenced on the 12th of March, looking at the broader needs of women and linking resources to help assist disempowered woman to reach their full potential and live more meaningful lives.

Siyafunda Learning Exchange
MES – a social development organisation in the inner-city of Johannesburg – together with Mosaiek invited our partners, friends-in-ministry, individuals and organizations that are involved in transforming their communities to a one day workshop on the 23rd of August. 80 delegates attended the one day workshop which addressed various social development topics such as:

MONTROSE FOUNDATION HORSE THERAPY
The Montrose Foundation Board of Trustees awarded MES Cape Town with a R45 000 sponsorship recently. This was for 8 individuals to enrol in their Equine Assisted Youth Development Programme this year.
This programme is facilitated on De Grendel Wine Estate outside Plattekloof and is run by Stacey Doorly-Jones, General Manager of Montrose Foundation.

CRISIS CENTRE KUILS RIVER
The much needed MES Cape Town Crisis Centre finally opened on the 1st of March 2012.
Its purpose is to accommodate women in crisis. It is mainly a 72 hour facility for referring organisations, but not always. Depending on the individual in crisis it may be longer than 72 hours, but it would never be long term.
